From heavily wooded forests to snow-covered high camps, this trekking route in Nepal can be compared to the legendary trekking trails of Nepal.

The alluring journey starts similarly to that of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek or Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek from Pokhara. This beautiful lake city is the embarkation point of the Mardi Himal Trek. The chance to excavate the scenic beauty of the secluded sector of the Annapurna series and pristine mountain madness are the major highlights of this trek in Nepal. Moreover, the rest in places like Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp provides the stupendous moment of living up in the Himalayas. These places lacked the proper tea houses before. However, lots of the lodges and hotels are present nowadays endowing great accommodation and food for the trekkers. Even though these days the number of trekkers going to this place has increased, tranquility and serenity are always intact in this part of the Annapurna region trekking in Nepal.

While you are in the high camp, a mountaineering feeling can be savored. The more you trek further, the more you will be obliged by the splendid view of the mountains. On your return from the trek following the trails of villages like Kalimati, Sidding, and Lumre, you can observe the culture of the Brahmins and Gurung communities.

Book the Mardi Himal Trek for the experience of the grandeur of the secluded Annapurna sector. Be it snowy camps or wooded shelters, trekkers will find wilderness adventure to the fullest. Follow the trustworthy guidance of Nepal Adventure Pilgrimage Treks & Expedition to make the most adventurous journey in Nepal.

Best Time to Travel to Mardi Himal Trek

The best times to view Majestic Mountain vistas are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During this time of the year, blossoming lush forests and cool temperatures make your trip mesmerizing. However, during the winter season trekking in Mardi Himal Trek is also open. Because of the cold weather, the walking holiday might not be as exciting as in spring & autumn.

Mardi Himal trek difficulty & altitude sickness?

The Mardi Himal trek is considered a moderate difficulty trek in terms of physical exertion. The highest point of the trek is the Mardi Himal Base Camp at an altitude of 4,500 meters (14,764 feet), which is not extremely high, but still poses a risk for altitude sickness.
Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), can affect anyone regardless of age or fitness level. Symptoms of altitude sickness can range from mild to severe and can include headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to tell your trekking guide or seek medical attention immediately.
To help prevent altitude sickness, it's recommended that trekkers acclimatize by taking rest days at certain elevations, drinking plenty of fluids, and avoiding alcohol and smoking. Additionally, it's important to ascend slowly and not to push yourself too hard too quickly.
Mardi Himal trek is considered moderate in difficulty, it's still important to take precautions to prevent altitude sickness and to listen to your body while trekking.

Accommodation & meals during the Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek is a beautiful and challenging trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Accommodation and meals during the trek can vary depending on the type of trekking package you choose and the route you take.
Generally, there are teahouses or lodges available along the trekking route where you can stay and eat. These teahouses offer basic accommodation with shared rooms and bathrooms. The meals provided are usually traditional Nepalese dishes like dal bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables), noodles, soup, and fried rice. You can also find some western dishes like pizza, pasta, and sandwiches in some teahouses.

If you choose a package with a trekking company, they may provide you with better accommodations in lodges with private rooms and attached bathrooms. They may also provide you with meals, either at the lodges or by hiring a private cook.
It is important to note that the higher you trek, the more basic the accommodation and meals become. So, be prepared to rough it out if you plan to go further up the mountain.

Strongly recommend to trek and do city tour with Nepal Adventure Pilgrimage Trek

We had planned for this trip since 3 years ago before Covid-19 and the trip had been postponed until this May 2023. Finally we had made it. Even we've already paid for the deposit, Anil still kept following up from time to time throughout these 3 years and quite flexible for all activities we needed. Helicopter trip, Paragliding and so on. However, after other groups have problems with altitude and Covid-19, he's on the phones all the time and lost some focus with us. But it's understandable. He's trying his best effort for every group. Two porters who came with us're nice and had great service mind as well. Also the city tour guide, Mr. Dhruba Dahal, was very nice and took good care of us until the last minute.

Nepal 2025

It was our first time in Nepal, an unforgettable experience lived with my partner. We relied on the agency in Bhuwan, a simple, genuine and truly extraordinary person, as well as his collaborator Prem Sherpa Himal, who guided us for five days along the Mardi Himal Trek. Bhuwan is a cheerful and helpful person, who not only organizes trips, overnight stays, visits to cities or Chitwan Park, but really manages to involve you in Nepalese culture, making you feel part of it. It was the first time we relied on a travel agency and we can only say one thing: they were perfect. Super recommended experience! Greetings from the Himal Chancha!

An experience that makes a trip to an extraordinary country even more special

I am a traveller who builds her own trips independently but who is aware of the added value that can come from experienced locals. Bhuwan with its agency “Nepal Adventure Pilgrimage Treks & Expedition” has taken care of the organization of our trekking. We chose the Mardi Himal. The organization was impeccable and above all flexible, which I think is the most important aspect given that the weather changes rapidly and continuously and that each person can have different times and resistance. But what I appreciated most was Bhuwan’s willingness to share with us moments of conviviality and his many stories, which allowed us to get to know Nepal from points of view that would escape the tourist who visits it for the first time, with a passion that makes everything even more beautiful. Really nice gift! And he also speaks very good Italian, which is quite rare among guides in Nepal.
