- The best time to take up the Upper Mustang trekis from September to December. Alternatively, February to May is also good.
- Expect a bumpy ride from Kathmandu that takes around 30 minutes. Add 20 to reach Jomsom. Another, not the so great idea is to take an 8-hour long drive in a 4X4.
- Teahouse lodgings are simple and rustic, and serviceable.

What to Expect from The Gokyo Lake Trek?
To reach out to the Everest base camp, you need to reach out to the Gokyo Lake trek and the trail offers the best of all phases. These have the mighty Everest on one end and the lesser-known yet sacred lake – Gokyo area. The region’s view is very grand, and thus you can easily get a peek at the 14 major mountains that tower above 8000 m height. Some prominent ones include – Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, etc.
Then when you peek down from the summit, you see the Ngozumpa glaciers. When you decide to go for Gokyo Lake trek, you will be welcomed by five major lake system that is grand and lovely. The area is an absolute pleasure to visit apart from the Everest base camp region. However, the same is a difficult trek to undertake. You need to take up 17000 ft by trekking to Gokyo to, Chola Pass and even Kala Patthar.
Chola Pass is the region that takes you from Gokyo to the Everest base camp. Undoubtedly, it is tough yet adventurous. Be ready for viewing glaciers and snowy mountains. Trek can be tricky and you cannot afford to lose attention at any time.
