Overview of the Chisapani Nagarkot Trek
Explore the natural wonders of Nepal and keen in seeing panoramic view of Himalayan range? Here we come with the best short trek called Chisapani Nagarkot Trek which is a three day trek. It is the nearest hiking trials from Kathmandu valley located near the Langtang trekking region. Comparatively, it’s an easy trek which takes you to the edge of Kathmandu valley, providing distant views of snowy mountains alongside giving you experience of Nepal countryside life and ethnic culture, local community, promoted tea houses and friendly villagers who make this trip a fantastic experience. This trek offers you to remain close to the nature and traditional village near the Kathmandu valley. Our starting point of this trekking is Sundarijal, we reach there by either private car or local bus, and then we hike to Chisapani which takes approximately five hours.
Once you reach Sundarijal, you pass through the huge watershed, providing drinking water to the city reaching all the way to Shivapuri National Park. Here, you will appreciate the genuine shelter of nature being far from the crowd and the noise of the city. After hiking for around five hours, you will reach Chisapani which is your first destination. As the name suggests Chisapani- “cold water in Nepali” always has cold weather. Strolling through wilderness and listening to the birds chirpings to Lapsi Phedi from Chisapani is soothing trip. You could get the amazing panorama view of Himalayan range like Langtang Himal, Manaslu, Gaurishankar Himal, and Ganesh Himal at this place. You will stay here overnight at the tea house run by the local villagers.
The next day, you will head to Nagarkot which is the second destination of this trek. After hiking for about six to seven hours, you will reach this glorious place. Nagarkot is at the height of 2195 meters from the ocean level. It is at the peak of Kathmandu valley and grants us the superb views of mountains and the Kathmandu valley. Early dawn view from Nagarkot is the most intriguing and hypnotizing view reflecting beams of sun to the Himalayas. You can relax in this cool place for a night. The tour ends with visiting the historical temple Changunarayan which is a Hindu temple which gives you glance of religious practice of Nepalese culture and traditions and then visiting the medieval ancient town Bhaktapur which has maintained its true culture and background until today’s date. Chisapani Nagarkot Trek can be done all along the year, but we suggest you to avoid the monsoon season from July to mid-September as the track can be difficult and slippery.
Physical Conditions and Experience Requirements
6 days of Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking is considered as moderate. If you jog or perform morning walks regularly then it would not be any problem for you to walk on the trail.
