Manaslu Circuit Trek weather varies throughout the year from sunny to cold and dry to wet. Manaslu Circuit Trek is a high-altitude mountain trek on the foothills of Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters). The total distance to trek Manaslu is from 700 meters to 5160 meters. The weather condition depends on the time of the year you trek.

Spring Season (March-May)

Spring season is the best season for those who want to experience the best of the tranquility as well as the scenery of the trail. The weather and temperature are stable and ideal during this time of the year. The visibility is clear with views of the snow-capped mountain and greenery forest. During the Spring season, there is a low risk of landslides and other climate hazards. So it is recommended as the safest season of all time.

March is the starting month of the Spring season. It is the coldest month than the other two months. The temperature can be felt neither too cold nor too hot. It gives a bearable temperature. All the accommodation and tea-house are reopened in March. In the lower region, you can witness stunning flora and fauna with colorful blooms of the rhododendron forest, greenery fields, and white snow-capped mountains.

April is the best month in the Spring season. The average temperature is around 6-12 degrees Celcius in the day time and during night time it is not as cold so you can enjoy sleep. The weather condition in both higher and lower altitude is stable. You can witness some professional mountain climber attempts to climb some of the surrounding peaks. Comparatively, the trekking region is not crowded in this month. Hence, April gives the best trekking experience through the circuit.

May is the warmest month in the Spring season. The temperature starts rising due to which climate is hot and you get sweat in the daytime. But, the temperature is mild at the highest temperature. So, you need to carry thin-light clothes during this time.

Monsoon Season(June-August)

Monsoon season is also known as the rainier season. More than 80% of the country is received by rainfall. It is the difficult season among others because the trails become muddy, slippery, and have a higher chance of landslides and floods as well. The weather is not stable sometimes it becomes crystal clear view and sometimes the mountains are covered in the clouds. Highest altitude above 4000 meters you can witness to see snowfall if it continues to rain for a long duration of time.

June in the lower regions, need to wear light thin clothes during the daytime. The average temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius. Most of the time you get hit by rain and clouds. Autumn Season(September-November)

Autumn seasons come after the monsoon season, it gives clear and fresh air. You can enjoy stunning views of snow-capped mountains with amazing clarity. This season is best for beginners and novices to get a taste of high altitude treks. The temperature in higher and lower altitudes is stable during this season. During day time the weather is warm and at the night time, the temperature is cold. It is common to drop the temperature below freezing in this season. The biggest festival Dashain and Tihar is celebrated during this season.

September is the starting month of the Autumn season. The weather condition is stable during this month. It gives trekkers the best views of the greenery forest and farms with glorious rivers, streams and waterfall. The temperature is ideal neither hot nor cold in trails. The average temperature is around 7 degrees Celsius at higher altitudes. And in lower, the temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius.

October is the best month of the year for trekkers to trek. The weather is perfect and the temperature is stable for treks. The temperature is moderate around 15 degrees Celsius. At higher altitudes, you will experience a slight chill climate as the temperature drops down to -2 degrees Celsius. You will witness a large volume of traffic in the trails during October.

November is the end of the Autumn season. It is quite similar to October with slight drop temperatures. At lower altitudes, the average temperature is around 13 degrees Celsius. And at the higher altitudes, the temperature is -6 degrees Celsius. You need to carry layers of clothes during this month. You can witness the stunning views of mountains with greenery forest and wildflowers.

Winter Season(December-February)

In the winter season, the temperature is cold and dry. The skies are mostly clear and bright with amazing views of mountains. As you continue to trek higher altitudes the temperature slightly drops down and feels a lot chilly climate. You need to carry proper gear before trying to trek in the winter season. During winter, you can witness various frozen lakes, streams, and waterfalls in the circuit. The temperature is warm during the daytime whereas, at night the temperature significantly decreases to -20 degrees Celsius.

December is the beginning of the winter season. The weather is quite similar to November until it gets colder. If you are a winter lover than you can witness the breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains. Most of the teahouse is closed to the higher altitude of the regions.

January is the coldest month of the year. The average temperature is 8 degrees Celsius in the lower regions. And in higher, the average temperature is -6 degrees Celsius. The highest pass Larkya La pass will be the most adventurous trails. Make sure you carry all necessary gear to challenge winter.

February is the shoulder month between winter and spring season. early February seems to be winter with occasional snowfalls, wet and slippery trails with the melting of snow. The temperature of early February is similar to January. During mid-February, the temperature slightly increases with clear skies, blooms fo the flowers like rhododendron in the lower regions. This is the perfect time to capture the melting of snow from the trees, unfreezing of waterfalls and streams.
